Orchids are known as ‘Queen of Flowers’. Whenever you enter a room filled with Orchids, you will realize why they have been given this name.
Growing orchids is not a very difficult work. They can be grown anywhere such as desert, swamp, Tundra, plains or even mountains depending upon the type of species of Orchid that you are planning to grow. There are more than 28,000 species of Orchid in the whole world. Orchids can also be grown in homes.
Each pod of an orchid contains thousands of seeds which get pollinated through the air. It is best to grow orchids in potting conditions during the first year as it requires symbiotic connection with fungus for them to survive.
Another important factor to note is that orchids are very delicate in nature and they have to be provided with an airy atmosphere and remain wet for more than a day or two. They need minimum 4 hours light to allow them to grow & bloom.
